The latest news coming in indicates that an Eritrean Truck driver who tested positive of COVID-19 has been intercepted at Elegu border post.
The drive only identified as Solomon Asghedom Abraham-58 years old was netted this morning from a check point placed at Bibia Gulu-Nimule road, Elegu town council in Amuru district.
According to Police record, Abraham driver of vehicle number KBF 988R is said to be one of the two drivers who tested positive of COVID-19 yesterday.
By the time of filling this story, he had already been transferred to Gulu Regional Referral hospital isolation ward for further support.

Its candid to note that, this is the third imported case of COVID-19 in the region following a similar incidence of a driver who was driven straight to Entebbe from the same spot while a second was bundled to Gulu Regional Referral hospital and now this one.
With 100 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Uganda as per the records from the Ministry of Health, 39 have been linked to truck drivers.
Yesterday alone the Ministry of Health tested 3,505 from which the two positive cases emerged one being the Eritrean and a Kenyan truck driver.
