Lira district is set to get a state of the art cultural and regional training hub courtesy of government of Uganda and Uganda National Cultural Centre.
The centre in Lira is one out of the four projected to be built in Tororo, Wakiso and Mbarara aimed at helping popularize Ugandan cultures.
Uganda National Cultural Centre board chairperson, Sam Okello revealed that the said centres are expected to seat on a six by six hectare piece of land with magnificent shopping malls, restaurants and theatre.
According to Okello, the four centres will be incubation hubs for talent and home of research into basic cultural practices.
He further stressed that the creation of the centre will help to diversify and create employment opportunities for youth besides helping them appreciate their cultures.
